I use this every day, to get me to write on days I didn’t want to or didn’t have a good idea. When a master lays down an imperative, there may be something to it. Write every day. Even if it’s two sentences, write every day.

Thinking about writing counts, too. I end up jotting down ideas and those become semi story outlines or partial scenes…

And, yeah, two sentences counts – because if you can stop at two you’re a better person than I am.

I write every day all day long. I blog, Facebook, Tweet, and Email. I write about everything I do. Sometimes I sit down and blog part of a story. There are several entries of the Lady MoonWalker Series on my blog that have notations at the top that declare them works in process. I call it Word Doodling. Artists, Doodle pictures, figures, lines, etc. I doodle sentences.

I catch myself trying to be careful even when writing a grocery list for fear that someone besides me will read it, and see a mistake and think, “Good Grief! No wonder her editing bill is so huge.” AWW but we cannot catch all mistakes, and then there are the times when we write, and spell-check, save and all, and still mistakes get through.

Either way I write all the time. Everything in some way is writing related. I carry round a little digital recorder, and when I think of, experience or read something that might inspire later writing or fit in something I am currently working on I record it so it is not lost in the everyday life junk.

Maybe I’m too focused, but Writing is my World, and I do nothing much else.

That is unless I’m reading blog posts. LOL!

I love the idea of carrying around a little recorder. I use my cell phone’s talk- to-text feature to do the same thing. I talk into the phone’s notepad whenever I get a great idea. They tend to come at opportune moments, but as long as you can capture them somehow, you can review them later and decide if they are worth pursuing or not.

If you don’t capture them, you can’t pursue them.
