Agree. In many ways the basics of all stories have already been told, but it is the individual voice as writers we give a story that sets it apart.

Totally agree. I’ve seen more than a few great premises ruined by less-than-stellar writing. On the other side, great writing has pulled me into stories I wouldn’t have been interested in otherwise.

I’ve had many a man comment that he needs reads romance but that my writing was good enough to persuade him to read mine. shrug. So I’ll agree.

I have to agree! A “gifted” writer can take a story I’ve heard dozens of time, put it into their words and make me feel as though it’s the very first time I’m reading it.

Partially agree. Some subject, ain’t no prose gonna grab me. Like history. Zzzzzz. And other topics – like, say, shoes – I think I’d care even if you wrote in caffeine-free too-early-to-talk Caveman, I’m still buying what you’re selling…. 🙂
