So? How can I help you?
Most of you have blogs or Facebook pages. The Navigators is due out in a few weeks and it would probably be smart for me to network with you to generate some buzz.
If you think it will help you, I’d be happy to do an interview or a guest post for your blog.
I would also reblog it here.
That gives my audience a taste and they have to go to your blog for the rest. You can ask me anything, I’ll probably answer it. That’s kind of what I do.
Yeah, anything. Go crazy.
Also, it helps you by getting potential eyes onto your blog and by exposing your writerly talents to the world, and it helps me by getting my book under the nose of your readers. So I don’t care if you only have three readers like I did three years ago – two of whom were spammers and one was my wife β or if you have 10,000 readers.
I need everybody.
I need all of you to help.
If you benefit from this blog in any way, here’s your chance to say thank you.
Here is what I will be asking you to do.
- When we come out with the book, tell your friends. It’s that simple.
- If you like it, read it and write a nice review on Amazon.
- If you’re on Facebook, I will put a post out there and if you repost it I will go over and make a comment. It’ll be nice to have you promoting an author who comes in and says thank you in person.
- Bloggers, this is a no-brainer. I have lots of followers and you will probably need some exposure down the road for your next book. I am happy to do it.
So there you go! You can comment below and I will contact you or you can send me a message to the contact me button. Let’s get the ball rolling and let’s create a big boisterous buzz for The Navigators β and for your next book too

Sorry if I’m unnecessarily confused here. Are you looking for blogs to host an announcement that the book is live? I’d be happy to do that if you want or just reblog when the time comes.

Not so much that it’s live, but if you want to interview me or if you want me to help get some readers over to your site, this is a good way to do it. But sure you can announce the book for me, too! I’m happy for that!

I’m not very good at creating interview questions, but I do want to help. Have to think about what to do. Unless you’d be willing to write a post on what inspired the book. Be happy to do a guest post swap.

Aha. You don’t have to be a great interviewer! First we have a bunch of sample interview questions here on the blog https://danalatorre.com/2015/09/30/did-you-want-me-to-interview-you-lets-get-started/
scroll through and pick a few, like 5 or so, and use them. Second, the question you asked – what inspired the book – is a terrific question and a conversation would definitely ensue from there! No worries!
I really appreciate the help, Charles! Thanks!

You’re welcome. I do like the idea of a single question with depth only because inspiration is always being asked about. It always seems to lead into more topics like writing process, character origins, and when you decided to be an author.

Right. So why not do this. Email me that question, I’ll answer, and you’ll have other questions that come up as a result. After two or three back-and-fourths, you’ll have an interview that’s all yours.

Got it. I’ll send it off in a minute. Almost time to wrangle the kid for school and I can already hear him trying to find a place to hide.

I used the ‘Contact Me’ form on your blog. Realized I didn’t have your email address.

Let’s do it! I’ll be picking a final release date today and scheduling the preorder stuff. We can get together during preorder or after release. Or both.

Brilliant. I’d be more than happy to help you with promos for both.

Will certainly like and share, write reviews and rave to my friends about how awesome you are. Also my mum says she will write you a review too!

Your mom was the best. We should have recorded her. Brit moms rock. And they’re funny!
Thank you for the support, Lucy!

I am trying to convince her to do some filming with me but she refuses! Maybe one day.
No problem!

I bet she’d do it with me. Maybe we can do a Secrets Of Portergirl’s Mum show where she talks about the REAL Lucy…

She would do it with you, you know. Oh no, she knows all the best (worst?) stuff about me! She is visiting the weekend after next, I’ll ask her π

Hi Dan. First off, where is Poggibonsi? Lol, I’ve been wanting to read that one. Second of all, I’d love to have you as a guest on my blog, in a few weeks, as I’m currently working on a few projects and interviews, and in serious rewrites on my newest book. Would that be okay?
I’ll admit, I don’t have any interview questions ready, most of my guest posts submitted their own articles to me. But as you’ve suggested to Charles, would you like to choose some questions from your great list of questions, or would you prefer I select them? Then I will write an introduction and add your answers, links and books you send to me. Lemme know.
You know I’m a great sharer around social media, so no worries there. Then I’ll look forwarding to your shares when my new book comes out in the fall. A win, win! π

YES I want to read this one too. Anyway, I am happy to share the release with the six people (none of whom are my mother, because she does NOT need to know all that which I post) who follow me and actually read what I post…. π

Hi Dan I follow you on here and on Facebook, so will definitely write a review on Amazon when the book comes out and will ‘like’ it on FB. I have a book out on July 10th Its my second book, an historical fiction novel. Alice’s Secret is the second in a saga I’m writing called A Celtic Trilogy. Can you ‘like’ my post on my FB page, so I get an author like. My FB page is suzanne bowditch π
