Congratulations, glad the Beta reading stage is going well.
It’s always fun to get feedback, good or bad – better to fix it now than to get bad reviews!
did you have any more comments about chapter one?
Some. The readers like it. Authors have suggestions.
Mostly traders feel I brought in the characters too quickly. That’s an easy fix.
I think the scene is important, but it’s hard to introduce them all because they are all important to the story and they all have to agree on the project. The reader needs to know Barry is in charge and very convincing AND has a thing for Melissa. All are important to the story. I’m sure you can figure it out. Again, by the end of the chapter, I had them all sorted.
I agree.
Watch the author suggestions. We always think our way is better. But at beta you’re looking for how it reads. But you know this already. ; )
Authors are afraid; readers assume the writer knows what he’s doing.
I’m more than halfway through. I got confused on chapter 1 as well when all the main characters were there. It’s my second time reading it and the first chapter has improved. Maybe a little more about how Barry is attracted to Melissa but that’s just the romantic person inside me talking.
Congratulations. Very encouraging.
Thanks!
