Recently we talked about mailing lists, and one method of using a mailing list is for a newsletter. To see that post, click HERE.
We shoot pretty straight here.
We rolled out the newsletter after “teasing” it to you for a few days.
In the example we showed in an earlier guest post, it took about two months for that author’s newsletter to get 50 subscribers.
Ours did it in about 48 hours.
Wednesday morning we had over 60 subscribers in our “soft” rollout and we’ll be at 100 soon. Early subscribers will benefit from better gifts, too. If you haven’t signed up yet, it’s a chance to get insights I can’t share here on the blog, among other things. (Click HERE to subscribe now.) If you subscribed, thank you! Please refer some friends.
Meanwhile, the author of the guest post? After about six months he had accrued around 500 subscribers, and…
he was able to get over 100 reviews for his next book, partly by getting his subscribers interested in it prior to its release!
(True story. Check it on Amazon. He released it in May 2015.)
Yeah, you don’t need that…
100 reviews? That’ll help with sales. And getting into BookBub. Among other things.
NOW what do you think about newsletters?
You have a lot to do. Subscribe to our newsletter and be with us us as WE go through the trials and tribulations FOR YOU, and then roll out your newsletter after learning from us – and watch it go through the roof.

I subscribed to the thing even though I hate newsletters with a passion. Also – I like being described as an ‘amazing friend’ so thank you!

You would think by now I’d know the name of your book and blog but I have said/typed it wrong so many times that now it looks wrong when I get it right. Thanks for not pointing it out and embarrassing me. You’re amazing.

I’m glad you’re looking for ward to your interview posting. I am, too. Should be fun for our readers to gain insight into your writing process!

They will get more than just an insight into the writing process, that’s for sure 😉 I am looking forward to it. In the meantime, the craziness shall commence forthwith.

Do me a favor and use the Contact Me button to send me your email and I’ll add it manually. I don’t know why it won’t take yours. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Hi, Dan,
Thanks for the mention and the link on your site. It helped me pick up a few orders.
BTW, the “true story” wasn’t quite right. I released *Contact Us* in March, 2015, and I didn’t start the mailing list until after I released it. But close enough. 😉
Can’t wait to see how my mailing list helps with the release of *Yesterday’s Thief*.

You were starting from scratch, too, without a blog following. Hope it didn’t seem like I was being disrespectful or unappreciative.
