That sounds entirely reasonable Dan. Since I’m on crutches you can be sure I’m the innocent one who’s running from, at least since I’m not carrying an axe or a chain saw, I hope you give me the benefit of the doubt.

Sounds like something Snoopy would say. (I think he’s making a comeback.)
You need to email me about Goodreads, too. I’m doing a post about my issues there for next week. Plus I may want you to read my latest book. Plus other things…
I don’t have friends. You’re either adopted family or an acquaintance. If you’re family, I won’t even ask questions when you show up covered in blood. 😉
That’s probably true of me. I probably consider good friends more like family and everybody else has a little distance. But I do need to express my concerns about how many of you have no issues with blood soaked people
My definition has changed lately. I believe it is someone with whom you share a true affinity, and the occasion to share it. In modern times, such friendships flourish on social media as well as in real life. Thanks for the thought-provoking post!
I agree. I spend more time chatting/talking with friends on social media than many of my friends in what used to be called real life – why call it that? Like the people I know online aren’t real? They’re real, all right, and they’re good friends!

Someone I can turn to with a problem and not be judged.
Someone who can come to me with a problem and not be judged.

I like that. Simple and effective.
However, if you come to me with a “problem” and you are out of breath and covered in blood, I may not judge but I’m gonna ask a few questions…

The picture says it all. Someone who thinks you’re great, even when you’re not.

Friends? … people I do more for than others … and they me … less than a handful in this world.

There’s a quote like that, about how you only need a handful of friends
