And maybe they thought I was a female wrestler who’d stumbled onto the wrong hashtag. It is also a “writer world Wednesday” hashtag, so they may be working on exclusivity, who knows.

As you might guess, telling me not to do something is a pretty good way of getting me to blast into it full speed, but I try to play fair (and I’m not trying to give them an ongoing hard time over it).

I feel like if my readers are mostly women – although after Poggibonsi comes out, maybe not – then I can use a women-oriented hashtag.

I often use #indiepub which is generally used for sharing tips and tricks amongst fellow indie authors. And #indiebooksbeseen for spotlighting (can you guess?) indie books (shocking, I know).

For the trad route, there are a lot of things going down recently with #pitchwars, linking writers with agents.

There’s also #ASMSG, Authors Social Media Support Group – has rules but is expansive and links tons of authors everywhere.
