There’s a story here somewhere – humans eradicating other creatuees never ends well – something worse might take its place! But my choice would be flies – what is the point of them?

You’re right. There might be a story here!
Like if we eradicate mosquitoes, that sets off some kind of a chain reaction that forces everybody to have to leave the earth because it is no longer inhabitable, they might end up on… Space island!

As much as I don’t love mosquitoes, or ticks (hate ticks) or those slimy slithering beetle like pest that finds its way in NE homes, I try not to hold their annoying ticks (get it, a pun) against them. They are what they are, and they are necessary in our world’s scheme of things. I bet they think WE HUMANS are annoying, and they’d love to get rid of US. (And guess what? There’s more of them, than us.) (Twilight Zone music here….) 🙂

If you hate mosquitoes, Colorado is heaven. I can sit out on my back porch and enjoy with hardly any bugs. And I KNOW what it is like to live with mosquitoes. I grew up in New Hampshire. We did an overnight outside when I was a camp counselor and had to bring a pillowcase to put over our head while we slept! I would say spiders, but I know they have a huge purpose getting rid of the other bugs.

I’m sure everything has a purpose. I just don’t want that purpose to be annoying to me.
Yeah you guys don’t have a lot of mosquitoes out there but I forget what bug it is that you guys do get. Something annoying. Rattlesnakes. Maybe hail. Something.
