This blog has long been a friendly place to come and learn, and what better way to learn than to ask?
You have questions. Writer stuff, marketing, motivation, you name it.
ASK ME
Your questions. Your challenges. Your issues.
If I don’t know, we’ll put it out to my vast network of author friends and get an answer. Or I’ll make something up.
Many people helped me when I was starting out because I was willing to ask what I needed to know.
That shortened my learning curve substantially.

Hi!
So, I’m working on one of WIPs and adding action tags. I like to use hand movements and I want to show a “hurry up”, like the character spinning his wrist in a circle…but I can’t figure out how to explain it.
Any suggestions?

You know what? We should put that on the blog and see what people say.
I would probably say something like “gestured with his hand” but if you had to describe that motion to somebody, what does it look like? That’s a tough one!

It was actually one of the comments in your critique. So, I’m walking around the house doing the motion and not knowing how to write it lol

It’s one of those things where usually if I explain to somebody what I’m trying to do, the mere act of explaining it and describing it to them tells me what I need to write.
Usually. Not always.
