An Angel On Her Shoulder by Dan Alatorre
I received a free copy of this novel from the author for an honest review.
I loved this novel.
The story line is tight and moves along without any hesitations or disruptions to the flow.
It is built around a family. Doug, the father, Mallory, the mother and Sophie their little girl.
Strange occurrences with disastrous consequences happen around this family and lead Doug the father to seek help from first the church and later on independent help.
The story follows Doug as he searches for help amidst a backdrop of a hurricane brewing and the seedier side of his town.
The backstory is skilfully weaved in andat times the writer can be likened to StephenKing
in how he tells the excerpts of Doug’s early life which have bearing on the story.
The ending of the story is
a real page turner
and
I hope there might be a second novel to come.
The writing is excellent, the pace fast and the characters extremely believable. He could be writing about your family or your next door neighbours.
I couldn’t put this book down.
If you love mysteries with a supernatural twist then you will love this novel as much as I did.
