This is happening, gang.
HERE is the link if you missed the initial post about an anthology I’m putting together
In the last few hours, FOUR authors (three published, one unpublished) have confirmed they will contribute stories to the anthology.
This is gonna be fun.
Still plenty of room on board, too!
Hey! While rummaging round in my many folders filled with writing projects, some finished, and some not, if youâve a holiday anthology that is not just Christmas! I found an awesome piece I wrote a couple years ago, edited, and all!
It has only been in my newsletter, and on my blog, so not real well known, and it is a great real good feel good post.
Thanksgiving time, but it was one of those that make you go AWW!
Cause it was true, and true, and it was about my grandchildren, and who doesnât like writing and reading about grandchildren?
BTW? I needed that awesome memory it brought, and so I owe you my thanks!
Iâd have not had it if Iâd not been looking to see if I had something half way worthy of submitting, or if Iâd need to dream something up.
So, THANKS!

The people who enter the contest, I have to read their stories anyway. If something looks good for this anthology, I’ll ask them to join.
For my author friends who have something ready to go, that’s really Tivoli no muss no fuss. If they want to write something, they have more than a month.
After that, we will have a group and the group will decide any pricing or marketing costs, etc.
My expectation is there won’t be much on a per person basis but I don’t want to make that decision before we see what the book is and who all the partners are. And I realize what is not a lot of money to one person might be a lot to somebody else. I don’t want that to be a reason somebody sits on the sideline and doesn’t get their story published in this anthology.

Cool, I have been part of a couple of anthologies and there has always been a charge to participate, which is why I inquired.

Hi Dan. Although I’ve written for years I’ve never even attempted to have anything published. In fact, I’ve just recently decided that some of my work might be publish-able. As I mentioned earlier I submitted an excerpt for the July contest and I would love to join the anthology group. My issues: I’ve never been professionally edited and I’m concerned that I’m in over my head. Do you, perhaps, have an idea for novice writers to get their feet wet without completely drowning? I would rather not tie up any of your time with something that is not written at the level you are looking for. Please advise— Thank you, Rochelle Harris

You have several options. First of all, entering a contest is not a bad way to get feedback. Second, there are some online critique groups you can join for free. I also have a private critique group that you might consider.
Either way you will get lots of information that will improve your writing, and from there editing is much less arduous
If you’re interested in the private group, send me a message using contact me button and we can chat!
