“A writer lives, at least, in a state of astonishment. Beneath any feeling he has of the good or evil of the world lies a deeper one of wonder at it all. To transmit that feeling, he writes.” William Sansom

When I was little I played my life in my own head like a book or a play. Sort of like meta thinking. My mother called it overthinking and said I was morose. I thought everybody’s brain works like that, like all the worlds a stage. (Comically there is a personality disorder, histrionic disorder, that also exhibits this tendency as part of its syndrome:).
So I’m not sure the word ‘wonder’ is correct, as in astonishment; but to wonder about everything, I believe is a writers curse. Well that, and grammar.
