When I sent the story to this illustrator, I tried to give as little input as possible, to see what she came up with. Her regular comics are sarcastic and occasionally dark, but she has the free-spirited soul of a child. When these came out, I just loved the feel of them. Michele liked them a LOT, and Savvy loved the colors and the details – there’s one with a cat, and she keeps asking about it. The original drawing had a black cat and the update changed the cat to calico. Savvy keeps asking what happened to the black cat. She saw it once a month ago, for three seconds. Kids.
I’m very happy with these, and this book is going to be so different in every way from my other illustrated children’s books. Can’t wait til it’s finished!
Adorable 🙂
She is such a talent. I’m very fortunate to be working with her. Eventually she’ll let me tell people her name…
Love it!!
