‘The heart’ is the driving engine. Sends you out there to put in the physical work. Keeps you keeping on when the project its the ‘hard slog’ stage. Brings in that smidge which fires you up with the belief ‘Damn! I can do it!’
‘The heart’ sends you back in for the ‘nth’ re-write, because in you’re heart of hearts you know the last one didn’t just quiet hit the mark.
‘The heart’ holds your head above ‘the waters’ when the rejections, poor sales or bad reviews come in.
‘The heart’ is the fire.
Disagree. Emotionally, yes, of course. But you need research to give authenticity to your characters and settings.
