Heather Kindt is now a published author, but not so long ago she was like a lot of you – unsure about her writing and uncertain about what the next step should be…
Here’s Heather, to explain her story.
Following years of playing around with my novels when I had a chance (which wasn’t very often), I saw an ad for Dan Alatorre’s Word Weaver Contest on Facebook. My friend Allison Maruska probably posted it, but I didn’t know it at the time. I was leaving with my family for Europe in a week, so I brushed off Ruby Slips and Poker Chips and thought about entering.
My decision to submit chapter 4 had to do with the theme of the contest – family. Chapter 4 involved Dottie’s Aunt Henrietta and Uncle Embry. It also hinted to Westward’s dead sister. Since Dan was pretty loose with his guidelines, I thought it might fit.
