It really smacks of that, doesn’t it? I see it that way, too, but even if that’s what it was meant for, it applies to writing. I first saw this after a writing-oriented contest with “judges” and others, making the contestants jump and beg for table scraps under the auspices of getting an agent, and when I spoke up, WOW did they come after me. (Luckily, because I’m a bit of an ass, I fought back each and every nasty tweet – maybe thousands – until I had boxed the ears in on every attacker and received an apology form the person who runs the event – #WIN)
If it’s meant for you you’ll need to see it first, give a little of yourself, as the giver may not know, need a sign of intent, by all means sigh if need so high, yet never beg, too high a risk of being misread.

Sometimes, things just align that way.
A writer is ‘in the mood’, tunes into a niche, clicks, gets a buzz and away you go!
