Ohhhh, are you gonna LOVE this! Writers Off Task With Friends

Yep, after just 4 rehearsals we figured out how we’re gonna do our video show, and YOU get the first sneak peek. Try to ignore the poor production values.

In highlight one, we learn about “impulse tattoos” and why writers have them. Except Dan. He doesn’t do tattoos.

Highlight two sheds light on the fantasy interview of our hosts when Jenny nearly dies.

And in highlight three, Allison rallies the troops with a war cry. To Pants!

If highlights aren’t enough or you just want more smiles, here’s the whole show. But beware – you’re going to enjoy yourself and laugh a LOT. We sure did.

These smiles say it all.

Important and educational writer topics discussed in a roundabout way.

  1. So good to actually see you all having fun! Video interviews are the way forward, I’m sure, but not for me. Point a camera of any kind in my direction and literally nothing happens. I have several embarrassing clips of me in wedding video’s, writers block doesn’t even come close!
    Too old, I guess…

  2. What a fun show!

I want to go to funny now. Going to funny sounds MUCH better than going to pants. Stay away, pants! (And I’m not just saying that because I’m a plotterite. I’m saying that because I am enjoying a wonderfully pants-free day.)

To chime in with my own answer to one of your questions — I laugh at what I write all the time. Or cry. If I don’t at least chuckle or choke up, I figure that’s a sign I need to revise.

  3. Great seeing you guys almost live. The last full video wouldn’t open 😦 I’m just getting used to the possibility of going live on camera. I’m thinking in time I may join you guys . . . thinking. 🙂

  4. Great idea! I’ve been thinking of creating a video myself and have never done it, never even skyped with anyone before. Some authors are creating book trailers, like movie trailers, only most simply do not have the budget or the know-how to be able to do it well. I know I sure don’t! So what I thought instead was to just talk into the camera for a minute or two and see how that goes over.

As for your show, a video author interview is likely to be seen more than a written interview, so I think it’s a wonderful idea. Good luck with it!

    • Well, it’s actually still too early to tell whether a video interview gets more views than a written interview. Historically, my written interviews have done well. But if you are interested in sitting down and having some fun with us, send me a message on the contact me button!
