25 eBook Tips COVER authorSSS
Ta daaaaa!

This is available NOWHERE ELSE right now, gang.

You get it here or you don’t get it.

Here on the blog we’ve gone from almost no followers to closing in on a thousand – most of that was in the last 9 months, and all of that was because of YOU. (Dan, how’d you do that???)

We’ve gone from NO LIKES to HUNDREDS EACH WEEK. (Yeah. How’d you do that?)

We’ve gone from VERY FEW COMMENTS – like none, to DOZENS and DOZENS almost every day. (YEAH! How the hell did you do that?)

  • Thousands follow us on Twitter
  • Likes for our Facebook pages
  • Reviews for our books
  • a fan base that you’ve always wanted

How DID we do all that?

We’ll tell you.

Subscribe to our free newsletter and we’ll give you the first book in our marketing series that explains just how we did it and how you can, too.

Everything we’ve done, YOU can do.

Guys, it’s so easy.

I mean, it’s hard work but it’s easy once you know what to do, instead of wondering and doing the wrong stuff. Cos you are doing wrong stuff.

Let us, your friends, who happen to be a couple of bestselling authors, show you how.

Gang, this book is huge. And the stuff in it works. Allison and I put together our best insights from the past three years of blogging PLUS what we’ve learned as new authors PLUS our book marketing experience, and compiled it all for you in a marketing series.

This is a gift, from us to you, for being such terrific supporters of the blog. Just sign up for the newsletter and the first book in the series is yours, free. As newsletter subscribers, you’ll have a chance to get the other ones for free, too, AND to tell us what you struggle with so we can help you.

Launch that next book with confidence.

This book is filled with tips for authors and it’s explained in such a way that you can follow and do what’s necessary to help your author self become all you can be. Get thousands of Twitter followers. Build your base. Launch you book to a ready, waiting audience. We’ve talked about this stuff on the blog; see how it all happens.

Secret Stuff? Could be…

I’m just sayin.’

Wait, there are lots of free books out there. Not like this, trust me. If there were, I’d just tell you to go get/buy that one. This is different.

As a reader of my books, you’ll get first access to them here, too. You’ll get a chance to see the stories before they are available to the rest of the world.

You’ll gain insights from us about marketing that we don’t share anywhere else. Stuff that works. Stuff you need. Stuff that’s not in our blogs.

  • There are dozens and dozens of writers who can tell you how much our input has helped them with their stories. What we learn from helping them, we can share with you in upcoming books. You’ll have first access if you’re a subscriber to our free newsletter.
  • There are many authors we’ve helped with marketing. What we learn from helping them – what to do, what not to do – we can share with your in upcoming books. You’ll have first access as a newsletter subscriber.
  • Some of you want to ask questions privately and not on a blog. You want/need private input. As a subscriber, that will be available to you.

I am very proud of this book, and it’s just the first in a series of marketing books we’ve done. Plus, we are compiling a book on “How To Write Better Books” filled with the tips you need to take your story from common to extraordinary. Subscribers will get first shot at that, too.

NEW NOVELS will be offered to subscribers first, at discounted rates.

But first and foremost, you’ll be getting a gift from us to you for being such great people.

The newsletter will be different from the blog in many ways. It will have author insights and behind the scenes stuff I can’t share on the blog. It’ll have tips from established authors who don’t want to say stuff publicly on a blog. It’ll have works in progress of mine and others that you can read and learn from as we create, outline, write, and edit our works. And a lot more.

How does the author do what he or she does? Learn it here.

You guys are the best. You deserve this and a lot more.

Yes, you can share this with your other author friends, or if you have friends who are fans of our books – they might enjoy some new stories or behind the scenes stuff that the newsletter will have. It’s not going to be just another blog post. It will have insights you need and tips you want.

It’s a limited time thing, though, so don’t screw around.

    • Thanks, CJ! It’s been fun testing – and messing up – MailChimp, but we’re getting there. As I figure it all out, I’ll pass it along. Imagine building your mailing list soon, with 500 or so eager subscribers looking forward to a new book, you know? That will help first day sales, presales, but also cross marketing… all kinds of stuff.

  1. Very cool, thanks Dan! I’m nowhere close to final revisions for my book yet, but it’s great to start thinking about these issues ahead of time. That way I won’t be gobsmacked when I finalize that last line and think that I’m (gasp) DONE — and it’s only just begun…

    • Right, joy. I was actually going to put a short comment into tomorrow’s post about how you really want to be doing some platform building a few months before your book is ready. Like I did. Didn’t. Whatever, I had NO platform when I put out my first book. I learned the hard way and I’m hoping to avoid any of you going through that. Plus, I have no issue knowing a small army of fellow authors who can all cross market with each other. And me. That all becomes painfully obvious when the book gets published. But one step at a time.

  2. Thank you, Dan and Allison. I can’t wait to have a look at the book and see what cool stuff I can learn about marketing. You’ve already helped no end with my writing, so I already think you’re awesome.

    Many many thanks!

    • Confession time. I think we signed up about 20 people before Al told me and Allison that it wasn’t sending confirmation emails out – cos he signed up and didn’t get one and knew he should have gotten it more or less right away. Okay, she sends me a FB chat message (cos I missed his email because I was doing something else, like, I don’t know, but something probably important) so I get her message, complete with an implied wagging finger, so I dive in and try to figure it out. Oh, there’s a button I didn’t push.

      And a form I didn’t fill out…

      And a file I didn’t load…

So I do all that and VIOLA! Everybody else gets a confirmation and the file. I personally email the file to the first 20 people or so… and I guess I missed you!

I know you are on the list.

I’ll email you the file RIGHT NOW.

And if anybody else missed it, let me know!

  3. Wow I read the whole thing which is pretty amazing after 2 very busy night shifts at the hospital attaching kids to monitors and messing with IV’s, and trying to get medications into a three year old. If I do half the things the book said to do it will help immensely. Too bad I’m one of those shy, reticent people described perfectly by Dan and Allison, and not a self promoter type at all. But, perhaps that will change with all this excellent advice. Thanks so much for including me in the newsletter.

    • The beauty of the book and newsletter is to show you ways to do things and maybe network with other people (authors, or new authors) so they can help you. Everybody is good at different things but for a lot of stuff you don’t have to be a super outgoing type. Most authors are introverts. They can learn to do things themselves, hire people to do things, get author friends to help, or a combination.

One great tactic was one author friend talking abut another author friend. People like that a lot more than a person saying “Look at me!” – which authors don’t like to do anyway.

If you set up the stuff we tell you, we and others can help you get the Likes and the Followers, etc. Many hands make light work.

Soon you have 600 Likes on your author page and you’re looking back wondering what the fuss was all about.
