Not Doing NaNo? You’re Not Alone!

I wouldn’t go so far as to call this an ANTI NaNoWriMo post (even though I just did in an earlier reblog) but it’s always worth getting both sides of a situation, and Allison provides some not-doing-Nano considerations.

A few have asked me if I’ll be participating in NaNoWriMo this year (that’s National Novel Writing Month, for anyone scratching their heads). It’s a really big freaking deal among writerly types. 1. I get kinda annoyed but Nanomo, I’m like if you’re a writer write when you want. I’m glad it encourages people, but if you’re a writer, then write. You shouldn’t need a movement to tell you to write. haha

  2. Thanks for re-posting this. I have been going back and forth with should I or shouldn’t I on NaNoWriMo. Though I like the concept of it, I just don’t think this November would be the best time for me. I am a very new writer, it is something I’ve always wanted to do, but just recently started writing short stories as a part of #Blogbattle, and figured trying my hand at a novel would be the next step. Your blog posts on writing have been so helpful for me, and your humor makes my day, though I have learned the hard way, not to drink any type of beverage when reading one of your posts. haha
